Winter Break

After a busy 2010 season, the Hortonracing team will now take stock of the progress made during the year and learn for the mistakes made.  Simon finished 8th in the supercar class and 15th overall in the MSA championship which isn’t a bad result for the second full season in the class.  The highlight of the season has to be the blyton night race where Simon and the Subaru truely started to show the potential pace and also moved upto 5th in the championship.  Since then it has been a mixed second half to the year with a steep learnuing curve in european rallycross in belgium, a blown engine at mallory in practise and a failure of a gearbox component late in the year, meaning we didn’t delivery the results we should have done.  However there is a lot of positives to take over into next years 2011 season.

The car is in the process of being stripped back to a bare shell and some fundimental re-engineering will take place to improve stabilty, handling and weight distribution.

In 2011 Simon will feature a new colour scheme which will be the first time in 6 years, so watch this space for developments over the winter.

The teams website will also change over the winter and will have more indepth technical articles on the car and also some features on driving in rallycross.  Plus, we will also be introducing a sister website for Steve Rattue’s new  Modified MGZR project.
