The new Hortonracing Subaru Impreza supercar was built over the winter of 2010 and made it’s competative debut in august 2011   Built by Simon and his team, the new car is based around a 2008 s12b wrc subaru impreza and is a more focused supercar than the previous generation GC8 impreza the team ran before.

Significant changes from the previous generation impreza include a lower centre of gravity with a better weight distribution, aided by the transfer from a rear radiator system back to a more traditional front mounted cooling package.  Secondly the car has a much wider track and is 10″ wider than the previous model, which will help aid high speed stability.  There has been significant changes to the suspension package including changes to the dampers, rollbars and associated components.

The final main change from the previous generation of impreza is a more aerodynamic profile which again should add those fractions of a second on the lap time.
